African activists seek to change anti-gay laws, attitudes

In Africa, where in 38 countries it's illegal to be gay, activists are meeting this week to develop strategies to get anti-gay laws repealed and to improve the general climate for gays and lesbians. About 75 activists are attending the meeting in Maputo, Mozambique, organized by the Coalition of African Lesbians.
