New Orleans health system expands telemedicine programs

New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System has served more than 1,000 patients with its Acute Stroke System for Emergent Regional Telestroke project that launched in 2009. Ochsner also is creating a telemedicine network to link ICUs across the system -- and eventually, other hospitals -- to a centralized control center staffed by critical care specialists.
