Nokia pitches partnerships to lure developers, carriers

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop today tried to convince developers and operators that Nokia's Windows Phone platform can make them money, announcing joint ventures with a coterie of major brands for new applications, including a Kraft Foods and Microsoft tie-up that would span platforms. "We're creating a platform to attract third party developers that's far friendlier and far more aligned with the interests of operators all over the world" than other mobile platforms, Elop said in a speech at an industry conference in Spain.
