Utah House approves digital billboard bill

The Utah House of Representatives approved a bill this week to remove cities' and counties' authority to regulate the way outdoor advertising companies replace static billboards with digital signs. Supporters say the bill will make it easier for sign companies to keep up with technology, while opponents say it will take away municipalities' ability to meet the needs of local communities.
