Study: Glycemic index flawed

A new study calls the glycemic index popularized by the South Beach Diet and others flawed, and suggests there is no reason to differentiate between "good carbs" and "bad carbs" when trying to control blood sugar levels. A diabetes researcher at the University of South Carolina said the index "is not helpful for scientists or people trying to create a healthy diet," and instead encouraged eating less and exercising more.
