Physicians warn against delaying colon cancer screenings:

Physicians at West Virginia University Hospitals say one area of health care that patients should not cut back on during the recession is colon cancer screening. A colonoscopy is both diagnostic and therapeutic because any polyps found during the exam can be immediately removed, one expert said.
