ABC proclaims near sellout for Oscar telecast

The March 7 ABC telecast of the Academy Awards is just about sold out, and advertising time is being sold at a premium over last year's event, according to this article, with 30-second spots going for between $1.4 million and $1.5 million. Jeff Bridges, who does voice work in Hyundai ads, is up for the best-actor award, so other actors are filling in for Bridges in Oscar night ads in order to comply with academy rules.
