Fourth-quarter profits rise for Standard Register

Profits for Standard Register were $872,000 for the final quarter of 2009, compared with $797,000 for the same quarter the prior year. The company reported a net loss of $12.4 million at year-end, compared with a profit of $6.8 million reported for 2008. However, company officials are optimistic going forward: Standard Register has added some jobs, and the pace of revenue loss has slowed.
