Group helps support homeless students' education

School on Wheels is a nonprofit program to help support homeless students with what they need to stay on track with their education. Founded in 1993 by a retired teacher in California, the program provides such things as sneakers for school athletes, help with college applications and fees, and after-school tutoring. The Massachusetts chapter of the organization recently received a donation to pay for backpacks, calculators, notebooks and other school supplies for more than 2,000 homeless students throughout the state.
