Molecule could enable surgeons to target cancer cells

Scientists at the University of California, San Diego, have developed a molecule that could help surgeons identify and zero in on tumor cells by tagging them with a fluorescent marker. They hope the molecule, which also features a magnetic marker that can help assess the disease through imaging techniques, could help improve survival rates among cancer patients.
