More women may get gestational diabetes diagnosis

The number of pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes could jump from about 8% to more than 16% because of new measurements for determining blood sugar levels, researchers said. The new measurements take into account the risk of having an overweight baby with high insulin levels, early or cesarean delivery, and pre-eclampsia.
