Senate trio mulls over options for compromise climate bill this year

Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., are working on a compromise climate bill that could be on the Senate floor by June if it attracts the minimum 60 votes for passage. Among the mechanisms under consideration for the compromise package are industry-specific carbon pricing, limited cap and trade, a carbon tax and the so-called cap-and-dividend system.
