Vermont launches campaign against pesticides

The Board of Health in Burlington, Vt., has asked two local property owners to stop using weedkillers and pesticides as part of a two-year project to demonstrate chemical-free routes to growing grass. The project arose out of concern that lawn chemicals can be detrimental to human health, particularly in children.
