FutureGen announces site of $1.3B carbon-storage facility

Morgan County, Ill., has won its bid to host a $1.3 billion carbon-storage facility that will serve the FutureGen clean-coal project. Carbon dioxide from the plant will be pumped along a 32-mile pipeline to the site for sequestration. "As host of the storage site, Morgan County will be on the map as a leader in clean coal research and technology," said Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
