Researchers scoop up spots aboard private-sector space flights

At this week's Next-Generation Suborbital Researchers Conference in Orlando, Fla., researchers are lining up to reserve space aboard private-sector spaceships. Million-dollar deals on as many as 17 flights have already been booked, including one deal in which two researchers will ride aboard Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo rocket plane, with an option for six more seats, and another in which six flights on XCOR Aerospace's Lynx rocket plane were booked, with an option for three more flights.
