Review finds strong link between optimism and better health

The link between a positive view of life and overall health is stronger than the connection between obesity and a shorter life span, according to a meta-analysis of 160 studies published in the journal Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. In one study, researchers conducted a 40-year follow-up of 5,000 students and found that students with the most negative outlook in life were more likely to die younger.
