Environmental concerns could pose a threat to work on Washington's State Route 520 floating bridge. However, the state House has passed a bill that would exempt the project from the state's Shoreline Management Act. The measure moves to the Senate, and if passed would ensure that the almost 900 construction jobs created by the project and the $165 million invested thus far would not be forfeited.
