Blended-learning network to create new schools in Milwaukee

Rocketship Education, which operates five blended-learning charter schools in San Jose, Calif., on Wednesday announced plans to open eight new schools in Milwaukee serving up to 4,000 students. The move marks the first phase of the charter network's plan to expand its model, which combines brick-and-mortar classes with online learning in a way that both personalizes education and cuts costs.
