CFTC gathering focuses on fixes for futures industry

The futures industry is trying to restore confidence after the collapse of MF Global. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is holding a round-table discussion this week to discuss ways to improve protection of brokerage customers' funds. Regulators and market participants are discussing a variety of ideas that include more reporting, fines and circuit breakers. However, agreeing on what needs to be done next might be more challenging than expected.
