Maine lawmakers discuss proposal to revamp workers' comp

A hearing was held in Maine to discuss proposed changes to the workers' compensation system, such as placing a limit on the period for claiming benefits in certain cases. The proposal was suggested by Paul Sighinolfi, executive director of the Workers' Compensation Board. The state's workers' compensation law is not in "total disarray," but part of the system is "unworkable, fosters litigation and is unfair to both employees and employers," Sighinolfi said.
