Raw milk linked to majority of dairy-associated outbreaks

The CDC recently reported that raw milk products are linked to 150 times more disease outbreaks than pasteurized dairy products. The raw-milk-associated problems were more likely to result in hospitalization, and people under age 20 were disproportionately affected by the outbreaks, which were caused by bacteria such as E. coli O157. The AVMA supports pasteurization of milk products.
