Survey gauges industry reaction to potential ICD-10 delay

An Edifecs survey of more than 50 health executives participating in its 2012 ICD-10 Summit finds 64% think pushing back the ICD-10 compliance deadline won't boost readiness, and 69% believe a two-year extension would be either "unrecoverable" or "potentially catastrophic." Edifecs also estimates a one-year delay could cost the industry $475 million to at least $4 billion.
