Joint iEHR still the goal, VA and DOD say

A joint statement by the Department of Veterans Affairs and Defense Department reconfirms their commitment to collaborate on a single, joint EHR project. VA CIO Roger Baker testified at a House hearing on iEHR that the agencies are not moving away from the initiative but will change the strategy used to reach their objective. "In order to achieve the desired data interoperability between both Departments, both 'cores' will conform to an agreed-upon set of standards that enable the secure and interoperable exchange of information," Baker said.
