New approach needed to address climate change

A new tack needs to be taken to combat climate change, writes Jeffrey D. Sachs, a special adviser to the United Nations secretary-general for Millennium Development Goals. A progressive tax on carbon dioxide emission would provide necessary funding for low-carbon energy and for research into carbon capture and sequestration.
