Monsanto buying Nebraska seed firm

Monsanto's American Seeds, formed last year to support innovative seed development firms around the country, is buying NC+ Hybrids, based in Lincoln, Neb. A Monsanto official said the holding company aims to cultivate "a new business model that brings new technology more directly to more farmers through local seed brands."
