Congressman plans electronic health records bill

Rep. Jon C. Porter, R-Nev., says he plans to propose a bill to promote the use of electronic health records in the federal employee health insurance program. A system for the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, which covers nearly 8 million government workers and their families, could be incentive for insurance companies to set up similar systems for their private-sector patients, Porter said.
