Current TV to solicit user-generated ads

Current TV, the cable network headed by former Vice President Al Gore, will solicit user-generated ads for air on behalf of marketers Sony, L'Oreal and Toyota. The phenomenon of user-created advertising is common on the Web, and reflects individual passions for specific products, but this is the first time the practice is being attempted on television.
