Sony CEO flexes more management muscle

Is command-and-control management staging a comeback? First it was Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz restructuring her company to concentrate more power at the top. Now it's Sony Chairman and CEO Howard Stringer. He has added the title of president to his nameplate and demoted his two highest-ranking subordinates in favor of young turks. "This (is) about as excited as I have been in some months," he said.
