Boston to debut 3 full-body scanners next week

As TSA prepares to bring online the first of 150 new full-body scanners expected this year in U.S. airports, some privacy advocates continue to argue that travelers will be subjected to a "virtual strip search." Three machines will be operational early next week in Terminal A at Boston Logan International Airport, says TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis, stressing that the technology offers a "more sophisticated way to scan individuals for items concealed under their clothing, including explosives."
