Indiana HSA plan shows the way to reduce medical costs

More than 70% of Indiana's 30,000 state workers have chosen a health savings account offered by the state, Gov. Mitch Daniels writes in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece. He said an evaluation of the program found the HSA participants "seem highly satisfied" and are not forgoing care or refusing to have preventive screenings to save money, but are making more informed choices on medical services that save money.
