Commentary: Quotas are needed to boost gender equity on boards

A quota system for boardroom recruitment is likely necessary until companies start doing a better job of finding and hiring female leaders, writes Susan Bloch. The success of more diverse boards demonstrated in research and the gender-equity example set by countries such as Norway have brought the issue to the forefront in the U.S., Bloch adds. "Can business leaders and governments continue to ignore this data?" she writes.
