Congress urged to require attention-grabbing labels for some antibiotics

A letter was sent by more than 30 medical organizations and health experts urging lawmakers to require fast-tracked antibiotics to have clearly visible logos or images on their labels to prevent them from being prescribed improperly. The logos would serve as an alert to remind health care professionals that the drugs are approved for a select patient group and must be prescribed properly with caution. The letter mentioned that drug-resistant "superbugs" are a possible consequence of unnecessary antibiotics use.
