Survey: Social media needs executive-level management

Nearly one in two marketers considers social media to be a permanent part of the media and marketing mix and say the segment should be managed by top-level executives, according to a survey by TNS Media Intelligence/Cymfony. Respondents also suggested possible titles for executive-level marketing positions associated with social media, including "Head of Social Media," "Director of Consumer Generated Media" and "Social Media Officer."
