Airports court airlines through "speed dating" conferences

With airlines cutting capacity, airports around the country are scrambling to hold on to flights with cash incentives and lower costs for carriers. Airports can make their case at "speed dating" conferences like one held Monday in Fort Worth, Texas, where marketers have 20 minutes to make their case before a series of airlines. Joe Lopano of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport spent his day trying to convince 16 carriers to take advantage of incentives worth up to $8 million for new international routes.
