Blount shares hit 6-year low; company to close plant

Blount International plans to shut down a manufacturing facility, reduce its global work force and freeze some salaries, chief executive James S. Osterman said. The outdoor power equipment manufacturer reported fourth-quarter net income of $7 million, a significant drop from the $17.6 million reported for the same quarter a year earlier.
