Microsoft invites workers to try out new Kumo search engine

Seeking to break out of third place among search engines, Microsoft is asking employees to try out a new version of its search service, called Kumo, according to this article. No decision reportedly has been made on whether Microsoft's Live Search eventually will be renamed Kumo, which is the word for spider in Japanese and refers to the "spider software" that moves among Web sites to build the data for search-engine indexes.
