U.S. manufacturing fails to thrive for 13th month in a row

February marked the 13th consecutive month in which the U.S. manufacturing sector continued to contract, according to the Institute for Supply Management. "Manufacturing is still mired in the worst downturn since the 1973-74 recession, and there is little on the horizon to suggest improvement," said Thomas J. Duesterberg, president and CEO of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI.
