White House budget boosts funding for water, high-speed rail

A White House budget outline for fiscal 2010 includes more funding for water infrastructure and transportation programs. Under the $3.55 trillion outline, the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds would receive $3.9 billion for about 1,000 clean water and 700 drinking water projects. Meanwhile, the $72.5 billion proposed for the Department of Transportation includes funding for a $5 billion high-speed rail state grant program.
