Clean-fuel options could confuse consumers

There are too many potential alternative fuels for American consumers to get their heads around, clean-fuel experts said at a conference last week. From propane and natural gas to all-electric or hybrid vehicles, industry experts say, the profusion of new technologies is making it hard for any single alt-fuel option to develop critical momentum or build an infrastructure support network. "It's great to see the kind of innovation taking place in the U.S., but it needs to accelerate," says Keith Thompson of GreenFuel Technologies. "Americans are going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the next century."
