FAA investigates unauthorized access to JFK tower

The FAA is investigating air traffic control at New York JFK after a Boston TV station released recordings of a school-aged minor talking to pilots from the airport tower. The youth is heard on the tapes making five transmissions to pilots, and an adult voice at one point says, "That's what you get, guys, when the kids are out of school." Airport towers are highly secure, and only licensed controllers are allowed to communicate with pilots. "This behavior is not acceptable and does not demonstrate the kind of professionalism expected from all FAA employees," the agency said in a statement.
