VeriSign on course to finish new Net security standard

Internet-registry operator VeriSign said its rollout of a new Internet security standard that governs top-level domain and root servers remained on course. Designed to prevent spoofing attacks, the DNSSEC standard will be deployed across the breadth of the Internet backbone. Its technology lets Web sites using digital signatures and public-key encryption to verify domain names and IP addresses.
