Study: DASH diet may help prevent kidney stones

The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension or DASH diet reduced patients' risk of kidney stones an average of 35%, compared with 14% for those on a low-oxalate diet, a study found. Researchers said the DASH diet is easier to use because it is an overall eating plan, compared with the currently recommended low-oxalate diet, which is focused on a single nutrient.
