DHS skeptical about using lasers to protect airports

A ground-based laser system, called Hazardous Ordnance Engagement Toolkit (Hornet) could protect commercial aircraft from shoulder-fired missiles, according to its manufacturer, Northrop Grumman. But a Department of Homeland Security official said such a system would be "ineffective" and expensive if used against that type of threat.
