Insurance companies saying no to gastric bypass surgeries

Insurance companies increasingly are dropping coverage of weight-loss surgeries amid growing concern that possible complications may outweigh the benefits of the procedures. Procedures such as gastric bypass and stomach stapling have gained in popularity, but companies say too many people are being unnecessarily considered for the costly work and complication rates are high.
