Fannie, Freddie to support new home-appraisal watchdog

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have agreed to spend $24 million to launch an oversight entity for home appraisals. The government-sponsored mortgage companies also agreed to uphold a code of conduct pushed by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo that separates mortgage lenders from home appraisers.
