RTI credited with shrinking Georgia's special-ed population

Educators in one Georgia district say early intervention has reduced its special-education population in the past five years, a trend reflected across the state. Georgia school boards may have been quicker to adopt Response to Intervention and similar techniques, which were not adopted elsewhere until after the IDEA reauthorization in 2004, educators say.
