U.S. court dismisses case against Barr, FDA

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit against Barr Pharmaceuticals and the FDA over the agency's decision to allow emergency contraceptive Plan B to be sold without prescription. The court said the plaintiffs -- the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, among others -- failed to provide sufficient cause for the case or evidence that Plan B's over-the-counter sale had harmed any individual.
