Proposed safety rules get thumbs-up from major food makers

Kraft Foods, General Mills and Kellogg have thrown their support behind food-safety rules proposed for the U.S. The changes would give the FDA more power to recall food, require manufacturers to submit safety plans and set standards for fruits and vegetables most at risk for contamination.
