Proposed safety rules get thumbs-up from major food makers

Kraft Foods, General Mills and Kellogg Co. have all thrown their support behind new food safety rules proposed for the U.S. The changes would give the Food and Drug Administration more power to recall food, would require manufactures to submit safety plans, and would set new standards for fruits and vegetables most at risk for contamination.
