Veteran pilot earns Instructor of the Year honors

A Texas pilot who has logged more than 9,000 hours in the cockpit has been honored with the Certified Flight Instructor of the Year award for the FAA's Southwest Region. Ken Wittekiend, owner of ProMark Aviation Services in Burnet, Texas, has been flying since 1970. "I believe the best safety device is a well trained pilot," he says.
